“Blessed to be Stressed”

This article is for you, the one who had a rough week, who is close to losing faith. When life feels like a big ball of chaos, there’s something I need you to know—you will get through it. The global world is going through a pandemic and many don’t know what to do or think. In fact, we have all had a rough few week. We are scared, worried, frightened, and concerned about how much longer we can hold out. It seems as if the world is under an unknown invisible enemy called “Corona”. Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Scientist and the 11th President of India, once said “All birds find shelter during a rain. But the eagle avoids rain by flying above the clouds. Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference;” a saying I concur with. A word of encouragement for you, from me, with love is that no matter what you’re facing now, your ability to succeed and remain happy is not based on other people’s opinions, and it’s not worth your own health and happiness. Allow yourself to keep hope and faith in God’s ability to see you through. Find shelter during this rainy season in God’s promise to remain in control of our lives, and that He is with us, and will never forsake us, no matter what.

Why then would God allow this pandemic to occur? It’s suggested that, God allows things to happen to: 1) Bring us back to Him; 2) To let us see the gravity of our choices; 3) For us to remember He is Sovereign; and, 4) To show us that we desperately need Him.

God knew that stressful situations would occur and that you would rise to the occasion and overcome, but those who remain worried, concerned, and anxious would start to negatively affect their physical being. In other word, He reminds us “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Because, long after this pandemic leaves us, stress created by fear will lead to serious health conditions such as high blood pressure, and heart disease. God wants YOU to face your trial in this life by standing firm in FAITH.

Try spending more time being guided by God. Don’t believe every word you hear. Don’t become angry with God, blaming Him for everything. Instead, let His word and peace pass through you, as you gently meditate on His love. Keep calm, smiling, and at ease with being totally assured that no weapon formed against you shall work. Remember that storms don’t last always. Let yourself fall into the ebb and flow of God’s rhythm of peace and love. Remember, words you think and speak to yourself daily, has the power to impact your life, more so than what you hear from other people. You have the greatest power for transformation, growth, and happiness through God. Think positively. Shalom!
